Google Drive launches today


Just one day after Microsoft launched their new SkyDrive service with tiered storage pricing, Google launched the much anticipated Google Drive. On Tuesday, April 24, 2012, Google shared the details of Google Drive for consumers and businesses as “a place where you can create, share, collaborate, and keep all of your work.

New SkyDrive apps and storage plans released today

Today, April 23, 2012, Microsoft released new SkyDrive apps for Windows, Windows Phone, iOS, and the Mac. They also added a tiered storage plan to their SkyDrive service that allows users to backup, store, and sync files across trusted devices.

The service will offer new users 7 GB of free storage. For existing users, Microsoft is allowing the same 25 GB of storage previously offered just for staying with them and choosing to upgrade. Many users may have already been upgrade automatically, free of charge.
