Many new vehicle diagnostic devices are hitting the market these days. With the Vehicle Diagnostics by Delphi module, you can easily find out what those engine codes mean, find out how fast your car was traveling when a friend or relative borrowed it, and even locate it if it goes missing.
The Vehicle Diagnostics by Delphi plugs directly into your vehicle’s OBD-II port and is compatible with most vehicles (cars, light trucks, SUVs, and minivans). It communicates with you through an app on your iOS or Android smartphone. Installation is easy. Just locate your port, plug in the device, and activate it with Verizon.
For many vehicles, you may also be able to lock and unlock your car doors or trunk using Bluetooth right from your phone instead using your key fob. This feature is particularly handy if your keys get locked in the car or you can’t find them easily. In some vehicles that have a remote start, the Vehicle Diagnostics by Delphi will also start your car from up to 30 feet away.
Through the Delphi app, you can monitor fuel level and battery voltage right from their mobile device. Parents of teenagers will appreciate the geo-fencing function, which allows them to receive email alerts when the car travels beyond a designated mileage range or at speeds greater than 75 mph.
“Verizon Wireless isn’t just a phone company anymore,” said Jerry Fountain, president of the Carolinas/Tennessee region for Verizon Wireless. “We’re partnering with innovators like Delphi to provide cutting edge wireless technology for every aspect of the consumer’s lifestyle.”
Vehicle Diagnostics by Delphi is available on Verizon’s website for $249.99 and requires a service line for $5 per month on Verizon's ShareEverything plan.
