Verizon announced this week that it will be boosting network coverage for the CMA Music Festivalin Nashville starting June 6 and running through June 9. This will enable Verizon to efficiently manage network traffic as it increases for the CMA. Verizon will be using a Cell on Wheels (COW) unit to help their customers remain connected while enjoying the event.
The Cell on Wheels unit has a telescoping antenna that reaches 75 feet high and contains 13 dedicated voice and high-speed data channels help process voice needs and data transmissions.
These type of devices are being deployed by the major carriers at most of the larger events. The telecommunications companies are being proactive rather than reactive to the needs of their customers around connectivity at events like the CMA Music Festival.
“Verizon customers depend on our network during the festival for meeting up with friends, sharing experiences via social networks and checking festival details with the CMA Music Festival app,” said Terry Dison, Verizon Wireless network director for the Carolinas and Tennessee. “We heavily invest in our customers’ experience and go the extra mile to provide the best wireless coverage possible, especially for highly anticipated events like this.”
The app mentioned by Terry Dison is available on both the Google Play store and the Apple App Store. Check out the app before visiting. If you are in the Nashville area and have Verizon, enjoy the experience and the city.
